Do you travel outside of Hawke’s Bay for sessions? Yes, I sure do! I love a roadie, so don't let distance hold you back on making that booking.
Who can join the fun? A standard family session is perfect for up to 6 people, but if your crew is bigger or you’re bringing along the grandies, let’s chat ahead of time so we can make it work on the day. And yes, fur babies are 100% welcome, they’re part of the family, too!
When and where do sessions happen? Outdoor sessions happen at the magical golden hour; that dreamy time just before sunset, when the light is soft and has a beautiful glow. If little ones can’t wait that long, no problem, we can find a beautifully shaded spot or adjust the timing to fit your family’s vibe. The best shoots happen in places that mean something to you: your favourite holiday spot, your backyard, the local park or in your neighbourhood. But if you don’t have a go-to spot, I’ve got plenty of ideas to help us find the perfect backdrop for your story.
What if the weather isn’t playing nice or the kids are sick? Life happens, and we can totally reschedule (within reason) to find a new date that works for us both. But here’s the thing. If it’s just a bit windy or overcast, let’s roll with it. Wind adds beautiful movement to your hair and clothes, and overcast skies bring a soft, dreamy vibe to your photos. Sometimes, the unexpected creates the most magical moments!
What should we wear? Let’s keep it simple and fun. Your photos should feel like you! Think coordinated, not ‘matchy-matchy’. Neutral, earthy, or pastel tones work beautifully, especially if we’re shooting outdoors. Avoid too much black, and if these photos are destined for your walls, steer clear of bold sportswear, busy patterns, or oversized logos as they can steal the show. Once you book, I’ll send over my trusty style guide to make planning a breeze. It’s all about making sure you feel confident and comfy, while looking picture-perfect.
